I want to buy a seized government car?

October 10th, 2010 Monica 4 comments

I keep hearing about how you could get good prices on cars almost 90% off the retail value by buying them from a seized car aution. I checked out some websites, but all of them had some type of member ship fee. I don’t want to pay for some thing and get a crappy listing of old cars or car autions. Is there any way I can go straight through the government to find where they will hold these type of auctions?, or at least a free website.

Government Car Auction – Why Would Anybody Want to Buy a Car From a Government Auto Auction?

August 27th, 2010 Monica No comments

Why would anybody want to buy a car from a Government car auction? That is what I am asked all the time when I tell someone that’s where my car came from. They usually give me a crazy look like I’ve grown horns or something. When I tell them how much I paid for it they look at me even crazier. Then they will go ask my husband what we paid for my car, as if I wouldn’t know how we spend our money.

For the last several years that is where my whole family goes to buy used cars. My husband was not hot on the idea at first until he went to an auto auction with my brother in law and saw how cheap these cars were selling for. Now that he is converted he just loves to tell all his friends how much money he saves buying auction vehicles.

A lot of people have the idea that these are just junk cars that nobody wants. This could not be further from the truth. These vehicles are either Government pre owned vehicles or they have been repossessed from some pour soul that could not make the payments. I hate that someone has lost their vehicle because they could not pay for it, but if I did not buy it someone else would so I might as well be saving money too.

You can really get some great deals on these vehicles because the repos are almost always brand new and the Government vehicles are only a few years old. Let me tell you something, the Government spares no expense in the maintenance of their vehicles, so you know you won’t be getting a clunker when you buy one of those.

So if you are strapped for cash and really need to buy a used car or truck, you should really go to an auto auction and just see how much of a bargain you can get. I think you will really be surprised at the quality of vehicles that you will find and the amount of money that you can save at a Government car auction.

What You Need to Know if You Want to Buy Impounded Cars

July 20th, 2010 Monica No comments

People who want to buy impounded cars should learn the basics of such auctions. Although the procedure works the same way as other auctions do, it is still better to come prepared and with a little knowledge of the ins and outs of such car auctions.

Choosing to buy impounded cars is a practical choice. The good thing about these car auctions is that you get a good car for a very cheap price. This does not mean that the car is wasted and out of condition.

Most cars that can be found in these auctions are well-maintained and in great shape. Some may even look new. So a very cheap price for a particular vehicle in impounded car auctions does not mean that the car is in a bad shape. Such selling price is expected and is the very essence of such auctions.

Impounded car auctions have very low starting price for various vehicles. However, a good find may attract more bidders causing the price to increase significantly. If you think that you are no longer getting a good deal and the price for the car you had placed your bid on is already high, do not attempt to outbid the highest bidder anymore in this case. Remember that the reason you are buying a vehicle in such auction is to get the lowest possible price for a car you want.

When choosing to buy impounded cars, it is best to check out the car in all its aspects including its history and background. It is also helpful to be well-informed about the top considerations in buying a used car – like what particular specifications should be noted and checked.

Do not be shy to ask questions. Remember that you are buying a car “as is” and you do not want to end up buying a junk. So it is just fair to inspect the car completely and thoroughly. To relate with the people in the auction, be aware of the rules and terminologies being used.

If you have serious plans to buy impounded cars, you have to find out the exact location where the auction will be held, the exact date and time of the event. Sometimes, local police agencies post ads and announcements of their impounded cars auctions. There are some who post the announcements in newspapers and other public circulars and in websites. Calling the local police department for some information may also be helpful.

Uncover more facts you need to know in minutes if you want to buy impounded cars simply by reading my blogs.

Buying a Used Car? Want to Save Money?

July 14th, 2010 Monica No comments

In the following article we will show you how to find and buy cheap used vehicles. Many people are not familiar that besides buying a used car from private sellers or through used car dealers, there is another opportunity to find great deals – public car auctions. Public or seized car auctions can provide you with excellent opportunities to buy a good second-hand car without spending too much money. What is a public car auction?

To be brief, various federal, state, and local government agencies regularly auction off surplus, unclaimed, and seized property, including cars. Banks also repossess vehicles from non-paying customers, and sell them through public auctions.

Since there are always so many cars and the costs for storage are enormous, the government agencies and banks are all interested in selling these cars fast and cheap! Therefore, they auction them all off.

Public car auctions are commonly used by many car dealers and resellers who buy up loads of seized cars and soon afterwards resell them for a huge profit. These auctions are real and take place almost every day in various parts of the country. All vehicle types, makes, and models are sold there – SUVs, coupes, sedans, vans, minivans, even convertibles.

But it’s not only car dealers that can take advantage of low auction prices. You can, too. Everyone is eligible to take part in these auctions – no license is required. Whether you want to buy a car to resell, or you are looking for a car for yourself or a family member, a public car auction is the best place to look for an affordable used vehicle. How to find public car auctions in your area?

Public car auctions of all types and sizes are held all over the country virtually every day.

You have two ways for locating these auctions in your area:
