Question by adrispina@ymail.com: What can I get in a repo auction for 00?
I am getting a used car through a friend of a friend that flips cars from repo and police auctions. My budget is only $ 5000 and I don’t know what I’m going to end up with. I was hoping for a 07 with less than 30 thousand miles. Is this realistic?

Greater Tampa Bay Auto Auction is a Manheim auction that is held in Tampa every week. Most of the banks in the Tampa Bay area send their repos there, but it is a dealer only auction. I will tell this much though, if you’re looking for a good used car for your own use, unless you’ve had a lot of car buying experience repos and auctioned cars are not usually the best thing to look for.

Ever purchased a car from a Gov’t or Repo Auction?

Question by ladygiv6224: Ever purchased a car from a Gov’t or Repo Auction?
Hi there, if you ever purchased a car from an auction or know someone who did, can you tell me what was the best car you got from an auction and for what price? Please be sure to include the year, make, model! Thanks so much!
I’m looking to get a newer car but $ 7,000 is my max. I was wondering if I could get a good deal at an auction with $ 7,000.
That’s and interesting sentiment Bg. That’s definitely something I’ll have to consider. I’m really looking for like a 2003 and up Toyota Camry but preferably a 2004+ Camry Solara.

I worked at an auto auction for many years, and you can get some pretty good deals some times, the problem is the cars are “as is”….7,000 bucks is a lot of money to pay for a car you know nothing about and can not return….
