Repossessed Motorcycles ? Buying Repossessed Motorcycles at Auction is as Simple as ABC

March 3rd, 2011 Monica No comments

Buying repossessed motorcycles at auction, is the best way to get the bike you want at a really sweet price. Motorcycles are repossessed for a number of reasons including the owner not being able to make repayments, failing to pay taxes or if the bike is purchased through the proceeds of crime. None of these reasons are a reflection on the quality of the bike itself, in fact you will be surprised to find how many are late models with low mileage.
Many dealers buy their stock at auction then sell on their vehicles to the public at a profit. Why not cut out the middleman and get the best possible deal at a repossessed and seized vehicle auction? I will give you some advice here to make sure that you get a great repossessed motorcycle at an even better price. It really is as simple as ABC!

Auctions

These public auctions take place regularly all over the country. You just need to find out where they are taking place and attend the auction in order to view the bikes available and bid on the one you choose. The auctions are not widely advertised, but you may find notices in the legal section of your newspaper. Another alternative is to use an online aggregate auction service, which will provide updated lists of all auctions taking place.

Be Prepared

There are a number of things you should do prior to the auction in order to be prepared. I would advise you to get a list of the vehicles available on the day. Decide which motorcycles you are interested in make a note of the VIN and do a background check. You should also check the market value of the bike and set your bidding limit, to ensure you get great value.
Also, find out what you need to bring to the auction with you. This may include a drivers license, letter of credit from a bank or a credit card with a limit, sufficient to cover your bid etc.

Check

Prior to the auction, you will have an opportunity to check the repossessed motorcycles available. If possible, bring a mechanic along with you for the check if you are not familiar with the technical aspects or engine mechanics of the bike. If this is not possible, make sure you check the bodywork for signs of damage, run the engine and check the oil to ensure that it is clean. Take your time during your inspection and ensure that you are satisfied that the motorcycle is in good running order, before you decide to bid.

Finally, don’t abandon the idea of purchasing a repossessed motorcycle, if the first auction you check out doesn’t have the model you are looking for. There are many repo auctions, taking place at regular intervals, so just be patient and you might just find a real gem.

Finding Great Deals on Used Motorcycles Brakes And Motorcycle Speedometer

February 20th, 2011 Monica No comments

There are many little-known resources for finding pre-owned motorcycles for sale. If you have decided to start your search for the perfect bike, there will be many factors to consider. If you want something very specific, you may be better off hiring a broker to help you track down and acquire that special motorcycle. If you are not as picky or find yourself on a budget, you may find the following list of resources very helpful in finding a suitable bike at a great price. http://www.idealhere.com/wholesale-Motorcycle-Parts_c16

Police Auctions:
Motorcycles, dirt bikes and scooters that have been seized at crime scenes or confiscated for other official reasons usually become government property that is then sold to the public at auction. Most of the time you don’t hear about these auctions because they generally have very little publicity. Many municipalities have information about police auctions on their Web sites. They may post auction dates or even list individual property for sale. If your local government’s Web site doesn’t have this information posted, you can call the Sherriff’s office or highway patrol to inquire about auctions. Make sure to ask about special requirements and other information you may need to purchase a motorcycle at auction.

Ebay:
When using Ebay Motors or other popular auction Web sites to search for a used motorcycle, keep in mind that the bikes you come across can be located anywhere in the world. Of course, there are search parameters you can determine to ensure that the results delivered are all within a certain number of miles from your home. You can decide how far you are willing to drive to pick up your motorcycle and search Ebay for bikes within that distance. If you are into restoring vintage bikes or customizing Harley Davidson motorcycles, you may be willing to pay for shipping costs provided you find a great deal. If this is the case, Ebay and other auction sites are great places to find what you are looking for.

Online Classifieds:
Because posting ads on online classifieds sites is free or very cheap, the best deals can generally be found here. One of the benefits of using online classifieds to find your motorcycle is that you can search locally or regionally. Depending on which site you use, you can search the top two or three larger cities that are closest to you. Again, this will depend somewhat on how far you are willing to travel to check, test drive and ultimately pick up your used motorcycle.

Used Bike Lots:
Used bike lots are a great place to see many used motorcycles in one place. As with cars, you must realize that buying from a dealership will generally be more expensive than buying your motorcycle from a private seller. On the other hand, buying your motorcycle from a bike dealership will give you the opportunity to purchase a warranty. If there isn’t a used motorcycle dealership near the town or city where you live, you may need to travel a bit to get to one. This might be well worth it if you’d like to choose from a large selection, be able to test drive your new bike, and deal with an established business.

Motorcycle Message Boards:
Motorcycle message boards are a great forum for finding information on where to get certain bikes or bike parts. The motorcycle enthusiasts that frequent these message boards can be novices or very knowledgeable, but they share your passion. Posters may have great ideas about where you can find a great deal on a used bike, they may actually know of a motorcycle for sale that is a great deal, or, they may even have a motorcycle for sale that you might be interested in.

Newspaper:
Your local newspaper is a great place to search for motorcycles for sale right in your area. The motorcycles advertised in the newspaper classifieds may be listed by dealerships or private sellers. The benefit is that every motorcycle listed here will be close to your geographical location. http://www.idealhere.com/wholesale-Speedometers_c352

Shopping for a Deal:
No matter where you decide to start your search for a used motorcycle you will increase your chances of finding what you want if you employ two or three of the methods. Make sure to do your homework by having an idea of what you want and what to look for. Also, make sure that you test drive the motorcycle and feel comfortable with the price and deal. September 6th, 2010 Monica No comments

Currently, the trend of buying motor vehicles is to buy from the bank seized car auction. And the most popular ones are the bank repossessed motorcycles. In fact, not a lot of people know what all the jazz about repo is about. Repo is an abbreviation for repossessed and it means property that has been repossessed by the banks or other financial institution.

In fact, properties like houses and motor vehicles can be repossessed by the government. This usually happens when the initial owner do not have the capacity to meet the financial obligation of the agreed repayment terms. In this case, the loaning organization will be left with no choice but to repossess the property and auction it at online seized car auction sites. The reason why they are doing this is that they want to recoup the remaining balance.

Many people are welcoming such online seized car auction sites. In fact, the repo concept has been receiving overwhelming response from the public. This is a great delight to the vehicles markets. What it means is that most people can get a very good bank repossessed motorcycle at a reduced price. There are simply many repossessed motorcycles models on auction and you will be spoiled for choice. Although such repossessed motorcycles are not new, but the fact is that they are still in very good condition, if not why would they be auctioned off?

Repossessed motorcycles are usually obtained from two sources: One is by the defaulting initial purchases and the other one is being nabbed in all kinds of criminal activities by the police. So your question is “Where to find these repossessed motorcycles?”. Well, you can actually check up on your local media or find out at the various repossessed property auctions directories. Nevertheless, the best place to look for repossessed motorcycles is still the internet and there are many related sites online. By leveraging on the internet, you can actually find the motorcycle that may just suit what you want.

One tip that I would give you is, you must always frequent the repossessed property markets on a consistent basis. The reason is because repossessed motorcycles come in fast and go out fast. If you lack the patient to scout on the online seized car auction sites in the long run, then chances are you may not be able to get what you want. Hence, my advise is that you must stick at it and you will soon get your dream motorcycle.

Where can I find salvage motorcycles directly from the insurance company?

April 30th, 2010 Monica 6 comments

I’m interested in purchasing cheap parts bikes directly from the insurance companies after a wreck. I am mostly interested in Harleys and I don’t have any interest in these gimmicky websites where you pay a fee and there are not a lot of bikes. I’ve looked at ebay but these are usually bikes being sold from the “person” who bought it from the insurance company (ie premium). There are some public auto auctions, but these are usually only limited to dealers. But maybe that is my only choice?

Finding Great Deals on Used Motorcycles

Another benefit of online classifieds is that you can post a listing yourself. For little to no money, you can actually place an online classified ad stating exactly what you are looking for in terms of a used motorcycle. Responses will typically come in the way of emails or telephone calls from prospective sellers who may have a used motorcycle that you may be interested in. Consider this “putting out your feelers,” and do it regardless of what other (more aggressive) search methods you employ.
Yard/Garage Sales
Looking for a used motorcycle by visiting yard sales or garage sales in your local area can be fun, but very time consuming. Unless you live in an area where there are very many motorcycles, you may spend a long time looking at yard sales. On the other hand, if you have already placed an online classified ad, are searching Ebay daily, and also happen to visit yard sales in your neighborhood on the weekends, then you’re only helping to increase your chances of finding a truly great deal on the motorcycle of your dreams.
Also keep in mind that by visiting yard sales, you may come across an opportunity to buy a bike that the seller hadn’t yet considered selling. Many people invest in motorcycles on a whim, without truly weighing out all the pros and cons. Having a motorcycle takes a lot of time and money, and many people end up dropping the hobby. If you visit a yard sale and notice a motorcycle parked in the garage, looking like it’s just gathering dust, it doesn’t hurt to ask about it. You may stumble across a great deal!

Used bike lots are a great place to see many used motorcycles in one place.
