Cheap Car Detailing and The Hidden Damage You Never know About

April 17th, 2011 Monica No comments

The word car detailing these days is a very misconstrued word among different members of the general public. It’s like the word polymer. In the auto detailing industry the word polymer I believe is one of the most abused terms I can put my finger on.

Some people see cheap car detailing as being a simple car wash with a quick polish and that is it. Others see it as just a polish and a car interior clean. Which ever way you look at it car detailing is supposed to be good quality car cleaning.

To put it as perfect as possible car detailing really is an enhancement of a cars overall current appearance. It’s not just a car wash or just a car interior clean. Just on the exterior alone there is 5 steps to keeping your exterior in immaculate condition. This is just part of the auto detailing process. Thia is where cheap car detailing cuts corners.

As far As cosmetic vehicle maintenance is concerned, in the last 10 years or so car detailing has become that fierce in competition when it comes to price, that any true quality in real car detailing and what true results look like has all but diminished. Mobile car detailers are popping up every where. Coffee car washes are also popping up everywhere. The recycled water alone in coffee car washes contains harsh degreasers, silicones, wheel acid, dirt which escapes the filtration system and God knows what else. Good for the environment they may be, good for your car they’re not !!.

Many of these industry car detailers seem to be something similar to that of a fast food chain . Come in, take your money, give you poor quality results and see ya the hell later. Then customers wonder why their cars have got swirl marks. Lets face it, nobody hands out beatifully inflicted swirl marks for 80 dollars better than a coffee car washe or volume cheap detailers

These days people are actually afraid to deal with certain detailers because they don’t know what the results are going to be like. It’s not possible to achieve a pristine finish, and one that will last for a long time for 150 dollars.

It is really a shame that so many customers want to pay a small fee, but expect highly professional results within two hours. It will never happen under those circumstances with an exterior or interior.

You can however have a two or four week shine for that figure, unbeknown to you that your paint finish has been damaged. This is where fillers are used. The car is shiny when it’s first detailed and after a few washes the compound slowly wears off revealing swirl marks. Either that or a straight cutting compound is used and the vehicle handed back.

Have you ever seen a black vehicle drive past you, which appeared to look like a black rolling mirror and practically flawless, and wandered to yourself “how the hell did he get his car looking like that”. It can be safely guaranteed, that result was not achieved within 2 hours or for 150 dollars with cheap auto detailing.

A flawless finish can and will take in excess of 6-12 hours of paint correction and then followed by paint protection, depending on the severity of damage to it’s paint surfaces, and its colour.

In reality many top quality car detailers have left the car detailing industry because they can no longer compete with the butchers in the auto detailing trade who offer cheap result car detailing at ridiculous prices. How many detailers do you know that you can trust with black car paint . On many discussions with other auto detailers when it comes to detailing a black car, they seem to cringe on the very word, because they have limited knowledge and they can not take short cuts.

Black colours will test any skill level and compounds a detailer can put to a car’s paint. A true detailer is not afraid of black. A true detailer or paint correction specialist has learnt many a lesson from black and perfected what he knows. Whether you own a black car or any colour car,you really need to know who your talking to. You only have to make that mistake of a cheap detail just once, and you have caused damage that will run in the hundreds.

Personally I have never been a believer of anything that is in anyway good quality when it comes down to cheap pricing. It has been a repeated lesson, not just with me,but many of us,that cheap prices when buying anything is not going to get you anything that is good quality. In the auto detailing industry I have seen it so many times, time and time again. I only have to look at vehicles turning in front of me to see damage evident on cars that ve been hit by cheap auto detailers.

It is just human nature to  have a stubborn attitude and continue to make repeated mistakes. Even in the car detailing trade. I have always said, that if you plan on selling a  car, then detailing may be your answer, but if you plan on keeping it,paint correction is the answer. A lot of detailers will not tell you what you are about to be hit with when it comes to that 150 dollar detail. They don’t tell you about the absolute garbage products that you could swear might as well be  cream mixed with sand is what they’re about to put to your cars paint. You only learn after the damage has been done

If this is not enough to make you hold onto your money and your paint job, and maybe detail the car yourself, then I don’t know what is. I have always said, I would rather hold onto my 150 dollars and damage my car for free myself, than to have payinstead ! for someone else to do it for me.

A Few Facts You Must Know about Repossessed Vehicle Auctions

March 27th, 2011 Monica No comments

Have you heard about repossessed vehicle auctions? If you have but are not familiar with them, then you should know that this is one of the best places to shop for secondhand vehicles, if you are looking for them.

At repossessed vehicle auctions, you can have a good chance of getting a fairly new car at a discounted price, sometimes maybe even just a year or two old. If you fancy an SUV, you will be able to get one here at a fraction of the cost you will pay in the regular market.

Here are but a few things to consider before going out and prowling repossessed vehicle auctions.

Not all of the vehicles you find here are the same no matter how they look on the outside, or in comparison to being the same year and make. The condition of the sale in an auction like this is as-is, so it is recommended you bring a mechanic with you when you are thoroughly interested in a unit. Secondhand vehicles carry no warranties, unlike new ones. The price differential is big enough to be of savings to you and an advantage over purchasing one off the assembly line. Weigh the possibilities of spending for repairs before you finalize a sale. It can work both to your advantage and disadvantage summing up if it will get you the general total cheaper or figuring out to spend a little more for a fixed up one. Although rare, there are chances of the vehicles being sabotaged. The mere fact they are called repossessed vehicle auctions mean that they have been accosted from a previous owner due to a default in amortization payments. Some people may feel vindictive and do unseen damages to the car. It just pays to be a bit more thorough and selective when checking. History of the previous owner and maintenance done would be nice, if possible. Be sure to read the fine print in the contract where terms and conditions apply. Some auction sites may place hidden fees and certain other costs that may not be mentioned upfront. Cases wherein insurance or warranties that have elapsed and compounded based when the car was impounded may be carried upon to the new owner.

These are just a few things to consider when you go out and shop in places like these. It would also be good if you can do a little research beforehand about the particular makes and models that you may be interested in. You may even want to bid online and save yourself the trip, but inspecting them personally is highly recommended. Check out sources on the internet for information on repossessed vehicle auctions and get the venue and time so you can plan out your adventure well.

In the past, everyone will either pop by the first hand or the used car dealership to pick a car. That’s the only choice. But today, there is another more affordable and attractive option – seized car auctions. Since these auctions happen in every State in the US, it is catching on as the favorite spot for savvy car buyers. These auctions are organized by government agencies such as DEA, IRS, FBI and financial institutions such as banks and private lenders. You will find a range of vehicles from trucks, RVs, SUVs, sedans, sports cars to motorcycles as well.

Does anyone know about these “cheap” car auctions for the public?

March 24th, 2011 Monica 1 comment

Question by whoknows?: Does anyone know about these “cheap” car auctions for the public?
Are they real? Can you really get a car for cheap? Any experiences good or bad is appreciated AS LONG AS IT IS REAL and you are serious about answering. I need a car right away…kind of hard (but not impossible)… am finding that out from others who have gotten good cars for cheap prices at different places lately! My credit is lousy, but I do have an “average amount” to put down. Please be honest and thanks….no silly/stupid answers please! Thank you all!

No such thing. These are basically clunker cars they sell to the public then tag on around 400-500 dollars in fees (outside of registration fees). Typically you pay all cash. No financing.
