Question by Dan M: Why do almost ALL eBay Auto Auctions fail?
Few get relisted. It seems that either most cars are sold ouside eBay (circumventing the feeback mechanism) or get sold locally (making eBay nothing more than an advertisement).
What’s up? It sounds fishy. A dealer can offer a few creampuffs and get great feedback but list most cars with inflated prices only to offer them cheaper outside the confines of eBay. Is this what happens?

Dealers use eBay as an advertisement, not as the only way to sell their cars. If they do sell a car from their lot that is also listed on eBay, AutoTrader or Cars, they have to take the listing down. There is also an idea that every car must get sold if it is listed on eBay. That is very far from the truth. Though alot of cars are sold through them, most dealers don’t sell any.

If you’ve heard that you can find anything on ebay, you may have yet another reason to believe it to be true. Car buying has become a growing phenomenon with ebay users, as autos are one of the most popular searches on the website. This may come as a surprise to some consumers, who wonder how they could know if the quality of the vehicle is satisfactory without looking at it in person. Another common question is how consumers get the vehicle once they have purchased it. Ebay auto-sellers have found ways of satisfying their consumers questions, still giving them a great deal on a vehicle.
Sellers answer nearly every question a consumer would have in the auction listing. Here, the consumer can find the mileage, condition, warranty, options, and model information. Consumers also have access to a history report on the vehicle that is connected to the vin number of the automobile. Well-established sellers even take it so far as to having a certification icon that ensures a mechanic has inspected the vehicle. Another important factor to establish credibility is too look at the sellers approval rating, which indicates how other consumers have felt about the purchases they made from the seller.
After reviewing the vehicle information, the big question still remains… how does the vehicle get to the consumer? Consumers generally have two different options to choose from. The first is the simpler of the two, which involves going and picking-up the vehicle from the location it is being sold. The consumer has the option of only looking for vehicles being sold in an area close to where they live, or flying out to the location and driving the car home. Many consumers find that the amount of money they save from purchasing on ebay is worth the cost of a one way plane ticket to get their vehicle. The other option consumers usually have, is to actually have the vehicle shipped to them. The cost of shipping is dependent on how far the vehicle is being shipped. It usually is around $300 to $650 to ship a vehicle less than 750 miles and can be as much as $1,150 for vehicles being shipped more than 2500 miles. Again, depending on how much is being saved from purchasing through ebay, consumers still may find it an acceptable cost.
While ebay continues to be a one-stop shop for nearly anything a consumer could purchase, some online websites are simplifying the process. By creating sites that focus on auction listings for one specific category on ebay, the consumer doesn’t have to search through all the wealth of items found on ebay’s home site. For consumers looking to purchase auctioned automobiles, websites like www.cheapautofinds.com, give consumers a simplified way of navigating through the automobiles being sold on ebay. Both sellers and buyers are finding ebay is a great way to make and save money, while making the purchasing process quicker and more convenient. With the now growing popularity of car buying, consumers can only imagine what they will see on ebay next.
Selling on eBay is perhaps one of the easiest ways to start an online business, but most people do not know what they can sell or where to find supplies. The next problem many people have is getting their items properly packaged and shipped. Here is a common example …
For an example we’ll use Ben and Jason. They each like to sell on eBay for some extra money. First we’ll begin with Ben. Since he gets most of his items by going to garage sales, he gets up early Saturday morning, grabs a cup of coffee and rushes out to his truck and drives from one garage sale to the next, just like he has been doing for the last 2 Saturdays. But this time Ben was successful and found an old knife dated in 1868 – and he only paid $12!
Ben was excited as he drove home thinking about the huge profit he would make selling it on eBay. As soon as he got home he began taking pictures with his digital camera until he finally got a perfect quality photo. Ben then uploaded the photo to his computer. He then had to write his sales advertisement. It was late when Ben finally got his knife on eBay and ready to sell. A week later his knife sold for $83. Wow, was Ben Happy! Now, he had to carefully package the knife with the customers correct shipping address and take it to the post office, meanwhile, getting stuck in the rush hour traffic. Ben is frustrated but after a long wait he gets his item off with a nice $71. profit! But doesn’t that sound like a lot of work and hassle?
Now, let’s see how Jason is doing. Jason sleeps as long as he wants, which is usually around 11:30 on Saturdays. He gets up and prepares a nice pot of coffee and taking it, goes into the livig room to watch some cartoons with the kids. When the show is over he gets on the internet with another cup of hot coffee and logs onto his eBay Wholesale Suppliers – Drop ship Account and finds some products that are hot on the market. He decides on laptop with a great discounted price of $549 which was his wholesale price. But wait … Jason does not even have to pay for this until it is sold! Now, all Jason has to do is to download the custom photos that are offered by his wholesale supplier. He then copies and pastes the custom sales advertisement, also supplied by the company. Jason is now ready to launch his eBay auction.
Asset #1: A Dutch Auction
Oh, there is a special. His wholesale supplier has several of these laptops available. So Jason decides to list 5 on the dutch auction. Ebay’s Dutch Auction allows you to sell as many of 1 item as you like, so Jason hits the Dutch auction button and his sale is launched for 5 laptops. That’s it, now Jason goes and relaxes with his (still hot) cup of coffee! At the end of a 7 day waiting period, at which time the auction has ended, Jason has sold all 5 laptops for $825 each. That is a whopping $276. profit for each laptop. This is all Jason has to do: After his 5 customers have sent their payments to his paypal account, he sends the addresses of the 5 customers with payment of $549 x 5 = $2745. Jason pays his wholesale supplier with just the click of a button through his paypal account. Jason has now completed his job which took him about 30 minutes of his time and leaving him with a pure $1380 profit! Jasons Wholesale Supplier will ship the laptops to the customers. Jason works smart while Ben works hard. It is clear that using wholesale suppliers who will also dropship would be one secret to success as an ebay seller.
Asset #2: Be Professional
Having a professional site for your ebay auctions is much the same as a business card. Your ebay auction site will show your visitors everything you have to offer and they can see that you have high quality merchandise. It will be worth your time to learn how to be a professional ebay seller, because if your listing looks appealing and professional it will entice your visitors to stay on your site longer which will result in more bids and a higher price which = more profits.
Asset #3: Follow Up for More Money
I’m sure you have heard that before, but it is a very crucial part of your success as an ebay seller! After a week or two, send your customers a follow up email, asking if they are happy with their purchase and inviting them to view an added item on your auction, making sure the item is somehow related to their recent purchase. Better yet is to send them a free digital product relating to their purchase as a “thank you”. This will make them want to buy from you again instead of buying from someone new.
Asset #4: World Wide Selling
Many ebay sellers neglect the aspect of selling worldwide. First, check with your wholesale suppliers and see what countries they ship to and find out the cost of shipping overseas. If everything looks good, you should list your auction international. This will ultimately result in many more sales because buyers are looking for “worldwide shipping”.
Asset #5: Stand Out From The Crowd
You should look at other auctions similar to what you have and make your listing “unique”. Dare to be different! The first thing is that you want to have a picture in the photo gallery. It doesn’t cost much more and is definitely worth the bit extra. Searchers almost always ignore listings without a photo, so this is VERY important! Next is the importance of your title. The title is all that ebay “spiders” when someone searches for a “specific” product. The idea is to make sure you use your main keywords in your title. Just take care though, because “key word stuffing” is something that ebay does not like! Do some creative thinking and prepare 2 or 3 different titles and test them to see which ones work the best.
Have you ever used the services of eBay to sell your second hand household items. It’s pretty easy, isn’t it? There are many hungry buyers always looking for good deals online. The basic of selling on eBay is:
1. Provide the best description of the product
2. Taking and displaying the most attractive colored pictures
3. Giving the best price based on market price (take off 5% for every year you have used the product)
How many of you have ever thought of selling your CAR on eBay? You are probably thinking: No way! Who will buy a car they cannot test drive and view? You’ll be surprised! By hiring a professional online car agent, you actually have a better chance of selling based on the following criteria-
Free Advertising on their Website
Your listing will be displayed in a thumbnail image with a description based on the information provided by the seller. Sellers are encouraged to include a mobile phone no. and include a country code if outside the host country of the agent’s.
Professional Written Description
Ebay is about buying and selling without actually seeing the item. A description must be detailed and enticing. The text must also be easy to read and understand.
Good Quality Pictures
A well written description with a crappy picture is the same as going for an interview for an executive level position wearing jeans and a tee. First impression is crucial for the interviewer to assess within 5 seconds of entry. With eBay, a great picture is even more crucial as the buyer will assess based on what they see online. No chance to see, hear or even smell the car of their interest. If it is not impressive, the next car is just a click away.
You can now advertise in a classified advertising section if you don’t want to auction off your car. A professional agent who specializes in selling cars on eBay will write an effective description for the best possible chance of sales.
Compare as many online agents as you can get your mouse to click on to compare services, fees, terms and conditions and how well they rate in google search as this will determine their credibility and popularity.
You should also invest in a book on selling on eBay as this is a wonderful business platform, whether you are a novice or business professional.
I have personally met people who have used the service of online agents to sell their cars or motorcycles on eBay so easily that they have made it a side income by selling brand new vehicles that they personally buy and sell it at 10-20% off market price and still make 30-40% profit! Now, these are not professional car salesmen.
They are professional accountants, lawyers, designers, internet marketers, just from every walk of life. It’s just a matter of studying the opportunities available offline and online and comparing the best offers and whether it applies to your region. There are many tips on how to buy vehicles, even luxury cars like Lamborghinis, for 40-50% lower than the market price if you know how to find them.
This is a viable business which anyone with a good credit history can venture into and you don’t have to be car expert to get in. Just invest in a little time to find out what is the hottest selling car in the market right today and compare the prices of brand new cars before learning the tricks of buying cheap from your selected dealers . Do your homework and you can make a living just by selling cars on eBay!
Ebay Motors is a great place to find a battery charger for your automotive and recreational needs. You probably already know the Ebay name since they have been the number one auction site on the internet for quite some time. By using Paypal or other payment services you have guarantees in place that make buying from Ebay safer than ever. Thanks to their ability to create storefronts you can find items for traditional auction style bidding or for items you can buy right now.
Whether you own a Honda motorcycle, an antique Dodge truck, or Yamaha ATV you need a trickle charger or tender to keep the battery up when not in use. Why not shop and find the best bargain around. While writing this article I found that prices varied widely. The lowest was a starting bid of $.01 which the seller probably has a minimum price before he will accept the winning bid. The highest price was for a specialty 3 bank charger starting at $800. The majority of the prices were around $50 or less.
All of the prices depend on whether the charger was new or used. Many auctioneers will offer some sort of warranty on their used products. You will find many of the prices closer to retail for brand new devices, but occasionally you can catch one at a bargain. One thing to keep in mind is shipping and possible taxes could raise the price beyond retail sometimes even for used products so be aware!
The last I looked for auto battery chargers there were several hundreds of choices. These included tenders, manual chargers, and trickle chargers. Units that offered from 2.5 amps to 300 amp and 6 and 12 volt . Manufacturers included Century, Schumacher, Deltran, and Battery Tender. With such a large number of choices you are sure to find what you need at a price you can afford.
Whatever type of charger you need you are likely find it on Ebay Motors. With a little shopping around and sometimes a little luck a cheap bargain can be had. If you keep aware of retail prices, shipping, and possible taxes you will find more buying power for your hard earned dollar.
From the ebay Id: waukeganautoauction I bought for a boat and on the listing it said shipping is worldwide, so I went ahead and bidded on the item. After winning the item, I read that the buyer wants the payment in 3 days (paypal not accepted) or else I forfeit the item and I will get a negative feedback on eBay for not paying for the item in time.
So I went ahead and paid for the item. after paying for the item, I realize that to have the item shipped to me is extremely expensive because I live in the Caribbean island of Dominica, and shipping from the USA only happens in Florida, I must have a trucking company haul/carry (Cost me $1000. cheapest) the boat from Illinois to Riviera Beach, Fl then have tropical shipping ship the boat ($2300) to the Caribbean island of Dominica. , the buyer is charging me $25 for each additional day after the end of 7 day which he has the boat in his yard. I found myself in a bad deal on ebay, and the seller won’t accept my calls. Help Please!!!!!
