Hi, Im a car guy. Where is a public auto auction in s.b county or l.a county?
Im looking to get an ’85-89 camaro iroc-z. I want to get something good and cheap that i can drive and work on. I love those cars. I want to get one from an auction, but everything online is newer late model cars and/or you have to pay to see there inventory. Anybody in socal ever go to an auction that sells kinda older cars? PLEASE let me know. I just want to go there and see what they have. Everything online is a guide to an auction or something like that. aNY HELP WILL BE GERAT.

what matters in auctions is the information, information on what is in auction, where is auction, and how many people are attending the auction etc.

Newer late model cars are usual sold at seized car auctions by the Feds, like Marshals and Customs. If you want older model cars, you’ll have more luck at a police auctions or al local or state auctions or at a federal surplus auction, and you can really get great deals on occassion, but not always.
And YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY to see any inventory. For example. GovernmentAuctions.org allows you to see everything for free – both live and online auctions all over the US. They offer a FREE TRIAL, and so you can activate it, and see everything that’s available, and then cancel if you want, and you won’t pay a thing.
Whichever auction you attend, however, be sure to do a proper inspection b/c your are buying the auction cars AS IS. I’ve been to all types of auto auctions, and I would suggest going to see one live first before actually bidding in one to get familiar with it. It moves fast, and if you’re not prepared, you can overbid by accident. You also have to make sure you do the proper value research before the auction, and set you maximum bid and stick to it.
