Where to buy cheap cars at auctions

September 12th, 2011 Monica No comments

Want to know the best place to get a great car at a amazing price? Well that place would be police auctions. At police auctions they sell the cars that they seize from criminals and sell them on for knock down prices. You can get some absolute bargains at these places as the police just want rid of the cars.

Finding the auctions can be difficult but if look hard enough you will find them. They usually run once a week on a weekend. It is best to go to your smaller community auctions as there will be less people to bid against and you will more than likely get a bargain. You can sometimes see the auctions advertised in local papers or on flyer’s left on lampposts.

All the cars are fully checked but it is recommend you take someone with you that knows about cars to check it over before you bid for it. But more often than not, as these cars were owned by criminals usually involved in the drugs business they like to keep there cars in good shape which is good news for you.

There are some people who make a business out of buying these cars cheap at the police auction, fixing any minor problems and them selling them on to the general public. This can be a great way to make a living because the profit margins can be massive. If you wanted to be in this sort of business you could even expand it by hiring your friends of family to go to different auctions in different communities.

Of course it doesn’t have to be a business for you, if you are just looking for a good car but have a small budget then getting a car from a police auction is going to be ideal for you. Some people may be a bit put of knowing that the car previously belonged to a criminal but if that does not bother you then you should definitely check out the police auctions.

You can find more about police auctions including locations were they are held by using the below website.

Auctions sell vehicles “as is” with no warranty. Auctions that are open to the public are not money saving places.

Of course there are deals to be had at auto auctions.

The thing to keep in mind is that you’ll be competing with people who do this for a living.

The odds of you beating out a professional severely limits your chances of getting a really good deal.

Better to go with private owners where you can take your time and ask all the questions you want and have a chance to see how the owner keeps his other vehicles.
